Sugar Land Psychological Associates (SLPA) is seeking a Licensed Psychologist to join our expanding multidisciplinary team.

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide therapy and assessment services via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms to clients across Texas. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and assessment skills, excellent written communication, and a commitment to culturally responsive, evidence-based care.

Our integrated team includes psychologists, pharmacists, therapists, and trainee-clinicians who collaborate to provide comprehensive, high-quality services. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with flexibility, administrative support, and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy via secure telehealth platforms.

  • Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests remotely, producing integrated reports.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment updates, and reports.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

  • Attend virtual case consultations and peer meetings to enhance professional connection and development.

  • Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards, as well as practice policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an accredited program.

  • Current, unrestricted Texas license as a Psychologist

  • Clinical experience providing therapy and psychological assessment.

  • Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with (or willingness to learn) electronic health record (EHR) systems and HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms.

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with the team.

  • Commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed, and evidence-based practice.

  • Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).

This position is fully remote, allowing you to provide therapy and assessment services via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms to clients across Texas. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, you will deliver psychological services within your scope of training while receiving structured supervision, mentorship, and comprehensive administrative support.

Our integrated team includes psychologists, psychological associates, psychological assistants, and other clinicians who work collaboratively to ensure coordinated, high-quality care. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with flexibility, structured supervision, and professional development opportunities designed to help you advance toward full licensure.

This position provides an approximately equal blend of psychotherapy and psychological assessment and involves delivering individual and couples therapy while also assisting with the administration, scoring, organization, and documentation of psychological tests under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. The role offers flexibility in scheduling, with options for in-person work at our Sugar Land office, remote therapy and assessment-related tasks, or a hybrid model.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and clinical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an interest in developing expertise in both psychotherapy and psychological/forensic assessment. Our collaborative environment provides structured supervision, a steady referral stream, administrative support, and opportunities for professional growth. This is a 1099 independent contractor position with potential for long-term partnership and advancement as our clinical, forensic, and assessment services continue to expand.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and couples therapy via telehealth and/or in person, including intake sessions, treatment planning, and ongoing therapeutic services.
  • Administer and/or proctor standardized psychological tests (e.g., MMPI-3, MCMI-IV, WAIS-IV, PAI, etc.) according to standardized procedures and ethical guidelines.
  • Score and organize psychological test data following established scoring systems and quality-control procedures.
  • Collect psychosocial, educational, medical, and legal background information through structured interviews and collateral record review.
  • Draft comprehensive psychological reports using standardized templates and methods provided by supervising psychologists.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Support communication and coordination with clients, attorneys, and referral sources as directed.
  • Participate in supervision and training to ensure consistency and quality in therapy and assessment practices.
  • Manage testing materials, inventories, and administrative logistics related to assessment activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology
  • Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas
  • Foundational knowledge of psychological testing and psychometric principles.
  • Clinical experience providing therapy.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills with the ability to follow structured report templates.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
    Familiarity with ethical standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office or related programs.
